Neolith: The Best Surface for Commercial Facades and Cladding

Neolith: The Best Surface for Commercial Facades and Cladding

July 11, 2017

Neolith Sintered Compact Surfaces make great countertops, tabletops, and desktops. But this revolutionary surface can be used vertically as well as horizontally – indoor and outdoor.

Neolith can be used for interior and exterior wall cladding on commercial projects, whatever the location, climate, or aesthetic. This heat-resistant, UV-resistant, scratch-resistant, graffiti-proof material’s performance is as impressive as its stunning appearance, making it an ideal choice for corporate buildings, retail stores, hotels, restaurants, and more.

Neolith Sintered Compact Surface is the result of years of research by parent company TheSize, in Spain. Profound dedication to innovation has resulted in technologies that make Neolith unmatched in the industry. Among the most important of these is the Sintering Technology, which subjects 100% natural materials to very high pressures and temperatures, creating unprecedented physical and mechanical features.

The result is a material that can withstand just about anything that life throws at it.

Whatever the Weather, Neolith Will Hold Up

Neolith surfaces are among the most durable material on the market and can withstand any climate. They are entirely waterproof, making them safe for rainy areas as they will not be damaged or eroded by regular downfalls. With a near-zero absorption level, Neolith is ideal for interior applications in any place where staining is a concern. That nonporous nature also means that they are easy to clean – a bonus for commercial areas that see a great deal of traffic.

Neolith can withstand dry, hot climates as well. Since the colors of Neolith surfaces are 100% natural, they will not fade or deteriorate due to sun or UV rays. Nor will Neolith-clad walls become compromised due to sun or heat exposure. Even as the summer sun bakes away at the sidewalk, Neolith will hold up. In fact, Neolith surfaces provide an extra layer of fire protection, in case of an emergency, as the material will not burn when exposed to fire.

Neolith’s resistance to extremely high and low temperatures makes it ideal for ventilated façades, providing continuous insulation and blocking direct solar radiation, for considerable energy savings.

Neolith is Also Human-Proof

In areas where graffiti is a concern, Neolith can provide peace of mind. The surface’s unique, non-porous finish means that building exteriors are automatically graffiti-resistant.  Spray paint and other chemically-based materials are no match for Neolith when it comes to inner city or commercial environment risks such as vandalism. A simple scrub, or power washing for more extensive vandalism, will take off the paint without damaging the surface. And since Neolith is nonporous, it is resistant to chemical cleaners, so it will hold up even if stronger solutions are required.

Neolith is also scratch-resistant; so much so that it’s often used in commercial kitchens, where chefs prepare food straight on its surface! Any bumps or scratches from traffic passing by won’t leave a mark behind, leaving your walls looking as pristine as the day they were installed.

The durability of Neolith makes it ideal for interior and exterior applications, allowing architects and designers to coordinate interior and exterior spaces – perfect for outdoor patios, lobbies that include large windows (showing a building’s exterior and interior from one vantage point), and more.

Size and Weight Matters

One of the characteristics that make Neolith stand out is how thin it is; it comes in thicknesses of 3, 6, 12 and 20 mm. Since Neolith surfaces aren’t as heavy as some other similar products, they put less strain on the supporting materials and framing, making them more durable in the long term.

The extremely thin, lightweight nature of Neolith slabs are also beneficial for renovation projects. The thin slabs can be installed over existing wall cladding without adding bulk, which also means that there’s no hassle of having to tear up and haul away the old surface.

Another benefit of Neolith is that the surfaces are available in a wide range of sizes, from custom-sized tiles to large 144” x 48” slabs. The large format slabs allow greater uniformity for large applications, such as wall cladding.  Bigger pieces means fewer joints and seams, allowing for a smooth, continuous look. Choose one monochrome design or alternate shades for pops of different colors. Or, choose one of Neolith’s marble-like or wood-like designs that can be bookmatched to take full advantage of the large scale of the application, showing off the wide movement of these stunning designs.

Aesthetics

Neolith offers an extensive catalog of contemporary, sophisticated styles to complement every aesthetic, from designs mimicking the texture of wood, to a stone-like façade, to industrial-chic copper and steel. The range of designs available offers a variation in both patterns and finishes, so you can capture any theme you like.

One of Neolith’s most popular and innovative offerings is their Classtone collection, which is comprised of eleven designs that replicate the look of high-end natural stone, including Carrara marble and onyx, but offer innovative and revolutionary versatility. Unquestionably, marble exudes elegance and luxury, but the characteristics of the stone limit the range of applications. The designs of the Classtone collection were developed as an alternative solution, offering the high-end look of the most sought-after natural stones, with the technical and mechanical characteristics inherent to sintered compact surfaces.

Other collections offered by Neolith are the Fusion collection, which “fuses” the look of stone with the durability of sintered compact surfaces; the Iron collection, offering an industrial-chic look with six variations of metal-like surfaces, including rusted iron and copper; the Timber collection, which mirrors the look and feel of wood without the porosity; and the Colorfeel collection, offering a number of solid shades, from the neutral to the bold.

Along with the spectrum of designs, Neolith offers four different finishes, from the completely matte Satin (recommended for commercial applications, to the rough-textured Riverwashed, to the soft-to-the-touch subtle shine of Silk, to the high-gloss Polished. The choices allow for any specific vision, whether it’s a luxury hotel lobby encased in gleaming marble-like surfaces, or a no-nonsense matte monochrome of a corporate building.

Whatever the project at hand, there is a Neolith design to complete the vision.
